Confusion Vessel Quartet devotes its music to the art of improvisation and experimentation, using the musicians styles and backgrounds as well as compositional concepts.

Improvisation, at the core of the quartet’s practice, is a powerful tool for the musicians to create a dialogue between their musical roots -jazz, new music, traditional- and a new style that they are creating. Spontaneity, interaction, and adaptability helps the musicians to transmit directly the situations they are actors and witnesses in the world they evolve in. The music is created collectively, drawing on a tradition of collaborative compositions .

The band supports each musician individual in their research of sounds, therefore their music is in constant transformation,  traveling in the past and in the future.

In addition to their own instruments, the musicians use the techniques  such as composition, electronic effects, free improvisation, live sampling, graphic scores, conducting, post production, and more.
