What lies in between words?
When we improvise with our instruments it becomes a language
of its own, one where we discuss on another layer,
a special one.
We are friends, but not all friendships pass through music.
Sometimes there is magic, sometimes miscommunication. And from these musical misunderstandings, a new style emerges,
something the four of us share and hold together.
Everyone and everything contributes: the person sitting in their kitchen, listening to the K7,
La Maison Matrice - the collective space where we rehearsed,
the people around us, the sound engineer, l’odeur de votre parfum,
my roommates, listening to the mixes, our friends, Mikael’s fever,
those who hated it, those who felt uneasy,
the winter soups,
our loved ones,
the weather on the mornings of the concerts, and its influence on the reeds of the saxophone.
What’s been created during the four nights of concerts at AMR
is the testimony of a complex and unique system of musical interactions based on improvisation, experimentation and trust.
Live at Gare du Nord, 2025
Develop Distraction Players embark on a random wandering, guided by sounds and their ambiguities, constantly diverted by strange attractors. They draw inspiration from political theories, natural phenomena, and chaos theory. Movements occur in improbable ways, and players may lose themselves in different dimensions of reality.
This live reflects the first concept of the band, an experiment inspired by Guy Debord's drifting theory and Society of the Spectacle. From this first experiment, the four musicians have developed their music inspired by different phenomenons, such as the movements of the waves, children's songs, and their own musical backgrounds (new music, improvised music, underground experimental, jazz and traditional).
